The Hobsons Study UK regional e-zine
The Study UK e-zine is sent out to students on the Hobsons database who have expressed an interest in studying in the UK on a monthly basis. This will be targeted to regions which you specify (eg; Global, EU, etc).
Copy guidelines
You can supply either a news story or a student success story of up to 150 words in length for each e-zine.
Please include the address of any website you would like students to visit to find out more about your institution and programmes, or an e-mail address or telephone number (complete with international dialing code) if you want students to contact a member of staff directly.
Please note: In order to produce an editorially consistent e-zine, all of the text you supply will be proofread and, if necessary, edited to comply with Hobsons’ house style.
News story
If you are submitting a news story, please try to make it:
• current – for example, you could promote an upcoming event or deadline or a new course
• unique – highlight what sets your institution apart from the competition
• interesting – try to ensure that students read the whole story and click through to your website by making your copy as lively and enticing as possible.
When writing your news story, please write in the third person (eg refer to ‘Hobsons University’s programmes’ rather than ‘Our programmes’). If possible, please also supply a headline for your story.
Success story
Student success stories allow you to showcase current students or former students who have gone on to successful careers in their chosen profession. Ideally, the success story will feature an international student and will include a short introduction of their academic and professional career to date, written in the third person (eg ‘John Smith decided to study …’), followed by the student’s account, which should be written in the first person (eg ‘I found the course to be…’).
Logo and images
Please supply your faculty/law school's logo, at a width of 120 pixels if possible (preferably when you send your text). You can also supply and image to illustrate your story. Please ensure that all images are sent as JPEG, GIF, TIFF or EPS files, and that the resolution is 72dpi or higher at a size of at least 90mm by 60mm.
