The challenge
For the third year running, Cisco came to Hobsons with the brief to help them fill their graduate vacancies.
This year, the internet networking specialists wanted to recruit 145 sales staff and systems engineers from 46 countries, specifying individual recruitment targets for each job role in countries including:
Algeria, Belarus, Belgium, Croatia, France, Israel, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UK and the United Arab Emirates.
With the added requirement that the recruits had to be ready to start work in five months time, the Hobsons team had to call on a range of expertise to help them fulfill Cisco System’s objectives.
Our solution
Hobsons established a project delivery team that converted the 12,500 applications into a final selection of graduates to be interviewed by Cisco at regional assessment centres.
Within ten days of receiving the brief, Hobsons had designed, implemented and tested the management tool for the Cisco recruitment website so that we could collect applicants’ registration details and CVs. Simultaneously, Hobsons’ marketing team initiated campaigns in every region to raise awareness of Cisco’s recruitment drive and maximise applications.
Hobsons’ trained experts then sifted through over 9,000 CVs, conducted over 1,500 telephone interviews and selected the top candidates to progress to the assessment centers we organised in each region. Cisco Systems subsequently recruited the applicants who performed best at these centres.
