Students playing the Global Management Challenge, the world?s largest strategic business game, have just six weeks to go until the National Final on 13 March
Student teams have been competing since October to run the GMC’s most successful virtual business, and finish the game with the highest price on the virtual stock exchange.
The GMC is giving some of the UK’s leading graduate recruiters – including Watson Wyatt, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office – a new way of interacting with penultimate- and final-year undergraduates from the country’s top universities through mentoring these teams.
Approaching the semi-finals
Launched at the University of Warwick in October 2006, 234 student teams entered the GMC in round one. Since then, the teams have submitted regular decisions about their virtual business.
Now, 64 teams from institutions including the University of Warwick, the University of Sheffield and Imperial College, are competing for a place in the National Final on 13 March. The eight semi-finalists will be announced on the 21 February.
The event
The National Final will take place at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants’ Pimlico headquarters. As a national sponsor, CIMA are pleased to host the event and are kindly providing the venue for the presentations and awards ceremony. For more information about CIMA, visit www.cimaglobal.com
The winning team will secure a place in the April International Final in Macau, China, and will be awarded £5,000.
