Hobsons is recruiting a Web Content Manager to join its London office. This is an exciting new role that requires a mix of creativity and technical skills, with a dash of commercial awareness, to develop and implement an editorial strategy for Hobsons’ UK websites.

Responsibilities of the Web Content Manager:
- Develop existing and new content on three sites, www.get.hobsons.co.uk, www.studyuk.hobsons.com, www.mba.hobsons.com, using a CMS. This includes reviewing website content, plugging gaps, checking for dead links, and refreshing and re-focusing web content
- Interpreting web analytic information and using this to advise on, and implement, editorial strategy
- Maintaining and developing strong market awareness to ensure sites are up to date and anticipate users’ needs, in particular an excellent knowledge of competitor sites
- Creating innovative web pages, blogs, e-newsletters, audio and video
- Producing content for a range of e-newsletters
- Controlling the quality and integrity of all information published
- Monitoring and moderating message boards
- General housekeeping of content databases
- Setting up and implementing audience research – focus groups, surveys, usability testing, etc
- Working with clients on bespoke content and marketing projects
- Photo research
- Working within a team with a designer (freelancer), marketing executive and web developer
- Working to the agreed in-house editorial standards
About you
You will have:
- A strong creative drive with lots of ideas on how to develop a website and present innovative and informative content effectively
- At least two years’ experience in web editing and content management
- Enough HTML, FTP, Photoshop and CSS experience to make minor design changes during uploading content
- An understanding of content management systems
- Good awareness and understanding of current and emerging web technologies
- A good knowledge of how content and design affect SEO
- Excellent copy writing and editorial skills, with keen attention to detail plus experience of working to a house style
- The ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Strong organisation and project management skills
- A proven ability to work well without close supervision, to prioritise and multi-task
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- A commitment to meeting deadlines
